As I close in on three and a half years of sobriety at the time of writing this, I’ve recently begun assessing my sobriety journey; where I am now, what is working & what isn’t and changes I need to make in order to improve my life.

One thing that I’ve always said is that being sober has given me clarity. And it is with that clarity I can acknowledge where things aren’t working out for me.

I’m not afraid to face my demons anymore. I have been, believe me. But the further my sobriety journey takes me, the more I realise that I have nothing to be fearful of. I’ve faced my hardest challenge in getting sober, I’ve tackled some things over these three-plus years that would’ve led me to a drink before and I know I can face tougher challenges in the future without reaching back for the bottle.

It’s with this clarity that I realised I needed to make some changes in my life. Changes that would take me out of my comfort zone but things I needed to do in order to regain control over my life and get better, healthier and happier.

Fitness

Your own physical fitness is one of the few things you have control over in life. You can choose to be lazy about staying in shape or you can choose to be proactive in your pursuit of being physically fit.

But “the benefits of getting in shape go way beyond the physical.”

With the world in such a weird place right now – from Covid to vaccines, to riots and lockdowns – it’s imperative to look after yourself.

You need to be strong, fit and healthy. Not just physically but also mentally and emotionally.

You don’t want to neglect your own personal health especially if you have a family to look after.

You don’t want to neglect the temple which houses your soul.

However you feel about what is going on right now, you need to focus on yourself first and not let government decisions affect your mission to become the best you can be – in all aspects of your health, wellbeing and life in general.

I know we’re meant to be saving Grandma but if you’re not physical, mentally and emotionally strong enough then you’re not going to be saving anyone.

You need to prioritise your fitness and work on your body. Your fitness will take care of your mind. And your mind will help with your emotions.

It’s really that simple.

If you want to get fit and healthy – physically, emotionally and mentally – then it’s time to get to work.

Sadly, I am out of shape. I have put on unwanted weight.

I may have quit drinking booze and taking drugs but I have not been able to quit chocolate for a sustained period of time. I have not been able to string together enough exercise to make a difference and I have lacked energy.

That’s why I’ve started my own fitness journey and I’m encouraging you to do the same.

Sexual Energy Mastery

I asked the question earlier; Are you lacking energy?

If you answered yes to that then let me ask you another question: Do you watch porn?

Yes?

Could this be why you have no energy?

Do you watch it too often?

Do you think it’s become a problem?

Answer these questions honestly.

Do you watch it when you’re stressed?

Do you watch it when you’re bored?

Do you watch it when you need to relieve some tension?

Do you watch it when you’ve seen a hot woman in real life?

Again, answer these questions honestly.

If you’ve answered yes to any of them then maybe it’s time to question whether watching porn is healthy for you.

You may think, what’s this guy talking about? Of course it’s healthy, it’s what men do.

“It’s healthy for men to masturbate.”

“I’m a red-blooded male and I like watching naked women having sex.”

Think about that second statement for a moment. Dissect it.

And you’ll see how crazy it really is.

You’re watching another man – a man that is NOT YOU – have sex with a woman on a computer/phone/tablet screen!

And when you’re masturbating to this, what are you really getting from it?

Maybe momentary pleasure after ejaculation but then what?

You don’t have a woman laying next to you! You don’t have a woman to have a cup of coffee with or have sex again with in the shower!

All you have to look forward to is a dopamine dump where you feel like shit.

You then have feelings of guilt and remorse.

You then have no energy.

Am I on the right track here?

When you get out into the real world, do you then find it hard to speak to women?

Do you agree that porn might not be the answer?

It honestly doesn’t need to be like this for you anymore.

You can stop watching porn and use your energy for your own betterment.

You don’t have to use porn as a crutch or avoid real-life women.

You can regain control of your mind, body and soul.
