Welcome to the Birth of Clarity newsletter on Substack.
In the fight against addiction, the battlefield is fraught with angels and demons vying for control of your soul. While demons seek to corrupt and destroy, angels strive to restore hope and clarity.
I know I’ve written about this before, however, I truly believe that as the demonic forces of addiction threaten to pull you into darkness, angels work tirelessly to bring light to your heart, offering sanctuary in a world of chaos and temptation.
I speak from experience. The darkness that surrounded me during my addiction felt otherworldly. It felt like dark forces were suffocating me, working away at my soul and trying to destroy me. It sometimes felt like something was dragging me down to my death - physically and metaphorically.

I still get a sense that demons are around me now and again, waiting to strike at any moment of weakness. Thanks to the angels - however you interpret them to be - I’ve remained alcohol-free for over 6 years and a world that once seemed so dark, has now been blessed by light.
Guiding Light Through Darkness
I use the imagery of angels and demons battling for the soul because when you’ve truly been in a life-or-death fight with addiction that’s what it feels like. It feels like you are the battlefield on which a war for your very being has been waged.
The unrelenting power that addiction - one of the devil’s greatest weapons - has over you when it grips tightly can be devastating so when you manage to break free, even for a moment, the path to recovery becomes brighter.
These demons are trying to attack you from within. They are trying to break down your resolve and crush your spirit so you give up the fight and succumb to your addiction. That’s why I propose that angels champion your freedom by offering the hope of recovery, giving birth to clarity and harnessing your power.
Grasp the light of the angels and summon the strength to overcome your demons.
