Welcome to the Birth of Clarity newsletter.
There are so many things in the world that are working against our true nature. There are so many things that the world offers us that are detrimental to our well-being. There are so many worldly promises that cannot be kept or met because they are a lie. They are either unrealistic or working against us.
When I speak about the world please know that I’m not talking about nature or our planet, both of which are wonderful. No, when I speak of the world I mean the manmade structure of society that we’ve created and that is currently consuming us at a disturbing rate.
Suicide. Depression. Obesity. Addiction. All on the rise.
I’m talking about technology, government, media, addiction, war, religion, pollution, crime, lies and propaganda. I’m talking about big pharma, AI, politics, slavery, 15-minute cities, fake agendas, taxes and a disparity of wealth. I’m talking about the things we’ve done and continue to do that have and continue to make us sick, sad, depressed and divide us.
When I see people like Bill Gates, one of the richest people in the world, pushing propaganda to make himself richer, I shake my head in despair. When I see Joe Biden throwing money at war while drug addicts line US streets, I shed a tear. When I see the advancement of technology taking people's livelihoods, I wonder how far it will go.
I talk regularly about going back to nature because there you will find no lies. In nature, you are surrounded by the best and the worst but you’re reliant on your true self. You are not held up or supported by the world, you are naked. You are back to purity. You rely on yourself; your brain, your body, your intuition and your character.
In the world; you can be manipulated, you can be corrupted, your values can be compromised, you can be distracted and you can lose your natural gifts. The world is so much different to nature. It is the world that is destroying the planet. It is the world that is destroying man. It is the world that is destroying our connection to nature.

I’m not a hippy. This isn’t some ‘far-out man’ shit. This is just the reality of things. The world now isn’t working at one with nature, it’s working against the planet. It is an unnatural creation that serves - and I know I’m going to sound like a ‘conspiracy theorist’ here - the elite class while the rest of us drift further from our true selves.
Let me ask you this: When you switch off your phone and enjoy the peace, don’t you feel better? When you swim in the sea or lie on the beach, don’t you feel calmer? Don’t you feel less stressed when you’re walking or exercising outdoors? Doesn’t it feel better to talk to someone in person than over your computer?
We’ve been conditioned to think that we cannot exist without these manmade constructs. We’ve been conditioned to think that our leaders have our best interests at heart. We’ve been conditioned to think that advancement in technology is a good thing. We’ve been conditioned to think that a sedentary life is natural.
Being out in nature for one day will probably teach you more about life and yourself than one week in school. Being at one with our planet will probably teach you more about our existence than any condescending philanthropist.
Caring for the planet and knowing nature isn’t about attending a ‘climate summit’ in your private jet!
There are so many trappings in the world. So many things that are not serving our best interests. We have allowed ourselves to be duped, deceived and seduced by the world and now we need to take a stand and say enough is enough. Yes, there are many things to appreciate. I mean, the fact you can read this now is amazing.
But ask yourself this, do you feel happier wrapped up in the world or when you’re embracing nature’s goodness? We have become a slave to the world because we’ve allowed ourselves to place our whole identities in it. We were not born to the world, we were born to nature. We must be able to differentiate the two.
I also write the AFF Newsletter - raw and honest articles aimed at helping dads overcome alcohol addiction (& much more).
Can the world be great? Of course. Can it serve a purpose? Of course. But do we place too much value and importance in it? I believe so. Am I suggesting that we ditch everything and live in the woods? No. What I am trying to convey is that the world is working against us and we need to recognise it.
We need to remember that the world is full of shortcomings and trappings that we were not supposed to endure. Life doesn’t need to be as hard as the world makes it. We have a limited time on this planet and most people don’t utilise it. Most people allow the world to pollute their souls instead of allowing nature to nurture them.
“It’s hard to overstate how much good nature does for our well-being: Study after study documents the psychological and physical benefits of connecting with nature. People who are more connected with nature are happier, feel more vital, and have more meaning in their lives.”
When you think of your childhood, weren’t some of the best times when you played outside with your mates? How much did you enjoy playing sports with them? Wasn’t it great to climb trees, build forts in the garden and/or go camping in the woods? Didn’t your childhood revolve around nature? Mine certainly did.
What would you encourage for your children now? Spend more time on their PlayStation or play outside? Text with their mates or play sports with them? Watch TV or ride their bike? We don’t want our kids to be consumed with the world, so why are we? Shouldn’t we be taking our own advice?!
This isn’t a lecture. I understand the good things in the world but I also recognise the dangers. I know that we need to remove ourselves from its trappings more than we do now because nature is more natural for us as human beings. Nature is healthier for us than the world and it's better for our well-being, happiness and ultimately, our inner peace.
