Dear reader,
What legacy have you built?
Have you ever thought about what legacy you’re leaving behind when you die?
Legacy is talked about a lot by many people in the ‘self-improvement’ sphere of Twitter, but it is an interesting thing to consider.
Ask yourself the question: What legacy have I created?
Before getting sober, my legacy would probably have been; “Roscoe was a good guy who liked to party” - or something like that.
Not much of a legacy!
Surely you want to leave a better legacy behind for yourself?
The reason I’m bringing this up is that I recently came across a book whilst doing some cleaning. The book is called Jesus Swagger.
I bought it in my early sobriety when I was trying to see whether religion was the answer for me (if you’re part of the Chaos Journals you’ll know what I’m talking about).
Anyway, the book was written by a guy called Jarrid Wilson. Jarrid was a pastor who wrote several books and was the co-founder of the mental health nonprofit Anthem of Hope.
Sadly, Jarrid committed suicide in 2019, but his books and his charity are his legacies.
The circumstances around his death are tragic but not the subject I want to highlight. Despite taking his own life, Jarrid had cemented his legacy through his charity work, his preaching and written work. His books will last forever.
Books are a huge accomplishment for the author and something they will leave behind when they are gone.
Have you ever considered yourself to be a writer?
Have you ever considered that you have something inside you waiting to be written and passed onto generations to come?
Your words could be heralded by future generations as a masterpiece.
What is stopping you from becoming the next Stephen King, J.K. Rowling or George R.R. Martin?
It’s worth considering.
But you will need some guidance at the beginning in order to set you on the right path.
You will need some advice from people who’ve already cemented their own legacy.
You will need some tips from the pros.
That’s where The Indie Space can help.
Join independent authors, Amazon bestsellers and comic book geniuses, and start leaving your legacy today.
Thank you for reading “Create Your Legacy”.
Take care,
Roscoe
