Hey guys,
Welcome back!
Before we get into today’s free newsletter, I wanted to share a recent conversation with a friend.
If you're a long time reader of this newsletter, you'll know that I'm quite raw with what I write about.
I’ve been writing like this since day one.
My thought process was that people who are signing up will be after my honest experiences with addiction, recovery and mental health.
Back in the beginning I spoke a lot about the importance of finding your tribe, a message I still endorse, but as time has gone on maybe I’ve spoken about things that are a little uncomfortable.
Well, that’s what was recently pointed out to me by a close friend. He said that my raw honesty might make people feel uneasy.
He suggested that the fact I talk so openly about my mental health and the chaos of life may lead some people to stop reading my work.
To be honest, I hadn't really thought about it - which is silly I know.
My process for writing these newsletters is to just sit down and write what comes to my mind.
And sometimes it’s not pretty.
Maybe talk of suicidal thoughts, etcetera, is turning people off from reading.
Maybe I need to rethink how I write.
Maybe I save the more open and honest content for the premium subscribers? I don’t know.
But I will definitely take into consideration the thoughts of my friend.

Let’s continue…
How many of you use positive affirmations in your day?
I used to do them every day but got out of the routine and stopped doing them altogether… until yesterday.
I believe in the power of talking positively to yourself.
As someone who spent years talking negatively about himself, when I stopped and started practising positive affirmations, the transformation in me was unreal.
Years of self-loathing and self-hatred can be undone with years of daily positive affirmations.
Try it.
Above is an example of a mantra I’ve used in the past which really worked for me.
What is your mantra?
For your homework(!), I want you to devise a mantra and drop it in the comments below.
Is this guy really giving us homework!?
Seriously though, I cannot stress how much of a difference you will feel when you start talking positively about yourself.
Bigging yourself up
Sounding out your values
Visualising and expressing who you want to be
It works.
Give it a try.
