Dear reader,
Sons of Anarchy was a badly written show.
Now I’ve got your attention…
Of course, it wasn’t! Well apart from a few episodes and maybe the season when they went to Ireland!
But overall it was a good show.
The characters were rounded out well and the situations they found themselves in were mostly believable.
I bring this up because I’ve always wanted to write a book similar to the SoA. A book about a group of real men roaming free and bringing their own justice to those who’ve wronged them and their families but with a few characters that deep down feel remorse for what they have done and want to change.
I’ve always wanted to write a book about male camaraderie mixed with lone-wolf characters all tied together by a code they live by.
Support
I’ve always wanted to write this type of book but I’ve not really known where to start. I have some of the characters in my head but when I sit down to write about them I get lost and the words don’t come out the way I planned.
I always thought it’d be easy to outline a character and just pad it out but I was wrong.
I always thought it’d be easy to write a story that flowed effortlessly from chapter to chapter but I was wrong.
I tried looking for YouTube clips to help me and although some were pretty good, they weren’t enough for me.
I need support from people who have done this before, people who can assist and mentor me as I go along (in real-time) and people who will offer me support and accountability (with who you can have a conversation) in order to stay the course.
Thankfully, I’ve found that in The Indie Space.
In the writer’s community, which is an absolute steal for the price considering the calibre of people in the group, there is guidance on how to structure your book, how to flesh out your characters and even how to self-publish your work.
There are comic book writers, fiction and non-fiction experts and even Amazon best-selling authors.
There are enough tools and resources inside to help you get started if you’re new to writing and there is enough support and brainstorming for those who’ve done this before.
I’m grateful to have come across this space when I did as I’m now back on track with my book(s) and enjoying the support & knowledge the group has to offer.
If you’re an aspiring author and just need to fine-tune your writing or you want to get ideas from people who have published best-selling books, then The Indie Space is for you.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
p.s. don’t steal my idea ;)
Thank you for reading.
Take care,
Roscoe
