Hey Crew,
Welcome back!
Nearly 29 months ago, I woke up having drank alcohol and used drugs for the last time.
And it has been the best decision I ever made.
Not just for me but also for those around me that I love, and who love me back.
Addictions are selfish. They want you all to themselves, they don’t care about others. They don’t care about you, you’re just a vessel.
Addictions will chew you up and spit you out, whether you’re alive or dead.
This is the cold hard truth.
And this why I talk about addiction.
More specifically, I talk about what recovery from addiction looks like.
I speak from experience. As a man who tried so hard to drown himself in booze and who owes so much to his recovery and just wants to highlight how damaging addictions are.
On that day, nearly 29 months ago, my life changed.
From planning my suicide to creating content such as this to whatever the future holds.
Change can happen.
When my suicidal thoughts nearly led me to take my final action, I was thankfully stopped just in time.
And in that moment, the pain of my addiction far outweighed the fear of actually giving it up.
Strength
Overcoming a serious addiction takes strength, which when you’re in the middle of your struggles, is something you probably never thought you had.
You’ll need use every ounce of energy to summon your inner strength that we all have it within us. It may be buried deep, but it’s in there.
You may be coming from a place of darkness and suicidal thoughts, as I was, but you’ll need that strength, as well as some help, in order to get yourself back on track.
My life isn't perfect but my sobriety hasn't wavered in 29 months. That’s because I laid a solid foundation forged from my own strength and the guidance of some great support.
You are tough and resilient, you’ve just lost your way.

And it’s no surprise, if we look at alcohol as an example, because the normalization of alcohol by advertisers, marketers and the media, is what's led to it becoming the most dangerous legal drug in existence.
Conquer your mind and face your demons head on
Most people who are struggling turn to:
TV
Pills
Porn
Booze
Gaming
Cocaine
Junk food
Social media
before pursuing true introspection to overcome their issues. That’s because most people seek escapism, through substances abuse and cheap dopamine fixes, instead of facing the problems head on.
Don't be like most people.
You need to win the biggest battle you'll ever face in life, and that’s the one going on in your head:
fear
procrastination
self doubt
lack of discipline
self hatred
comfort
Will all lead you to fall back into your destructive habits, but you have the power to control your actions.
You have the power to regain control of your mind and conquer your addictions.
But if you don't find a way to form symbiosis with your mind, it will destroy you.
Your mind is so powerful.
If your mind doesn’t destroy you then your addictions will finish the job.
You need to wrestle back control and learn to get out of your own way.
Remember that when you’re trying to overcome your addictions and break your destructive habits, it's inevitable that when times get tough, you'll try to lean on them once again.
But don't allow yourself to slip back into your old ways, they've served you no good in the past and they won't in the future.
Keep moving forward.
Conclusion
You’re not alone, your addictions can be overcome.
Addicted to pain pills?
Addicted to gaming?
Addicted to booze?
Addicted to drugs?
Addicted to porn?
They'll always be someone to help you who has experience in overcoming their addictions and will be willing to help you. You just need to reach out and connect with them now.
We all struggle from time to time, some more than most but it's through these struggles that we need to overcome that we learn the most about ourselves.
These tests push ourselves to the limit, but on the other side, after enduring and overcoming our addictions, we are much stronger human beings.
Don't suppress your problems.
Share them, embrace them, conquer them.
If you're struggling to overcome your addiction, get to bed without having given into your cravings and temptations.
Win today and then accumulate those wins.
Tell yourself it’s a win if I wake up sober and go to bed sober. Yesterday doesn’t matter and tomorrow doesn’t exist.
If you use your addiction as:
A mask to hide behind
Ointment to ease your pain
Anaesthetic to numb yourself
A shield to block your feelings
A bandaid to heal your wounds
You need to flip your mindset and stop heading down this dark path.
It only leads to heartache, rock bottom and misery.
You have the strength within you to overcome your addictions, don’t be afraid to reach out for help and remember, if I can do it then so can you.
I believe in you.
If you have any questions, need some advice or are in need of some support then please:
Take care,
Roscoe

Trying to quit my TV addiction, I resort to it to forget about problems or when I feel overwhelmed with all the things I have not done, so as not to interact with those who live in my house, when my mind gets tired of so much content and there is nothing to do
